Aerial is the act that makes people look up. Fluidity's aerialists perform silks, lyra, aerial hoop, and rope for galas, weddings, festivals, corporate events, and grand openings across Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic. Fully insured, custom costumed, and rigged by people who take the ceiling as seriously as the choreography. Your venue's rigging conversation is ours to handle, not yours.

The Acts

• Aerial silks. Two lengths of fabric, climbs, wraps, and drops. The most recognizable aerial act and the one guests photograph most.

• Lyra and aerial hoop. A suspended steel hoop, spun and posed. Elegant, sculptural, and beautiful from every seat in the room.

• Aerial rope and corde lisse. Raw strength and controlled descents. Reads powerfully in industrial or minimal spaces.

• Aerial with LED or fire. Illuminated costuming for indoor features, or fire integrated into an outdoor aerial performance. Both need extra planning, both are unforgettable.

• Duo and group aerial. Two or more artists in the air together, for events where one performer isn't enough.

What Your Venue Will Ask About

This is the part most clients don't know to ask, so we bring it up first. Rigging point.

 

• Aerial needs a structural point rated for dynamic load, typically 1,000 lbs or more. Venue beams, truss, and historic ceilings all need sign-off before we commit to a date. If your venue has no rigging point, we can bring a freestanding aerial rig.

• Height. Silks need 20 feet minimum for a full act. Lyra and hoop work comfortably from 14 feet. Under that, we'll recommend a floor-based act instead.

• Floor space. A clear circle of roughly 15 feet under the point, kept free of tables, cables, and guests.

• Timing. Rig setup takes two to three hours and cannot happen during guest arrival. We need access to the space well before doors.

• Site visit. For any venue we haven't worked, we do a rigging assessment in advance. Free, and it prevents every bad surprise.

• Sets run 5 to 8 minutes for a single staged feature, or multiple short pieces across the night.
